Run for the River 5K/10K Registration is now open!

Registration is now open!  Save The River’s Run for the River 5K/10K will be held on Saturday, July 27th! Each year this fun event raises several thousand dollars for our River protection programs.

The fast and flat course winds through downtown Clayton and along the waterfront.   Once again we’re excited to welcome back Yellow Jacket Racing to provide professional timing for the race.  Runners, walkers, and jogging strollers all welcome to participate in this event for all ages and abilities.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, July 27, 2013

Times: Registration begins at Frink Park @ 7:30 a.m. Race begins promptly at 9 a.m.

Location: Registration and race start @ Frink Park, downtown Clayton

Registration:

Pre-register On-line - Visit www.active.com, search for Save The River, and follow instructions to register on line.  On-line registration is available now and is subject to additional online registration fees or download this year’s Registration brochure 2013.    New this year! Pre-registration packet pick up will take place on Friday, July 26th from 12 – 4pm at the Save The River Office, 409 Riverside Drive, Clayton.

Race Day registration - Register on the day of the race.  Registration begins at 7:30 am and ends at 8:45 am.

5K  $25 (Early Registration – by 7/15)   $30 (Regular Registration)

10K  $30 (Early Registration – by 7/15)   $35 (Regular Registration)

Save The River members receive $5 off.

Awards and Swag! Race tees and swag are guaranteed for the first 300 registrants! Awards will be given for top male and female runners in each age category.

10th Annual River Day 5K/10K – Race Results Announced!

Many thanks to the 447 runners and walkers who came out  Saturday morning to support Save The River’s 10th annual River Day Run! With the expansion of the race to include a 10K we saw record turnouts and the event was our biggest ever, raising several thousand dollars for our River protection programs!

Congratulations to our 5K Winner Kentucky Wempe with an amazing time of 16:45 and our Top  5K Female Lynde Wangler with an overall 4th place finish and a 20:55 time. Our first 10K overall winner this year was Sean Kinnally who timed in at 41:19 and our first 10k Top Female is Meredith Kennedy with a time of 43:11! Congrats to all runner and walkers on a spectacular race!

River Day 5K Fun Run/Walk Registration Now Open!

Save The River’s 9th annual 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, July 30th with the race starting at 10 a.m. in Frink Park, Clayton.

Pre-registration is $20 and registration on the day of the event is $25. You can pre-register now at active.com or stop by our office! Online pre-registrations will be accepted up until 5 p.m. Monday, July 25th. (Online registration fees do apply.) Or you can download the registration form and bring it to our office in Clayton. We will be accepting in person pre-registrations until 5 p.m., Thursday, July 28th.

Race day registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 30th at Frink Park in Clayton, NY with the race beginning at 10 a.m. The first 200 registrants will receive a free t-shirt and water bottle.

River Day 5K Biggest Yet!

Many thanks to the 228 runners and walkers who came out Saturday morning to support Save The River! The event was our biggest ever, raising several thousand dollars for our River protection programs!

Congratulations to the Guarino brothers for another one-two finish! Nick Guarino won the race with a time of 15:23 and Joshua Guarino placed second with a time of 15:48. Megan O’Connor was the top female runner, placing 11th with a time of 19:33. Top Jogging Stroller runner was Randy Givogue in 15th place with a time of 20:39.

Save The River Announces Run Date and Professional Timing!

Save The River’s 8th annual River Day 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, July 24th at Frink Park in downtown Clayton. For the first time, the River Day 5K Fun Run/Walk will be a professionally timed event! All participants will use chip timing technology from Yellow Jacket racing to provide all participants with accurate personal times.

Registration begins in Frink park at 8:30 a.m. with the race promptly beginning at 10:00 a.m. Preregistration is $20/person and will be available until Thursday, July 22nd. Race Day registration is $25/person.

Race tees and water bottles will be available to the first 200 registrants only!

Save The River’s ‘09 5K Run/Walk Biggest Ever!

Many thanks to the more than 180 runners and walkers who participated in Save The River’s annual 5K Fun Run/Walk in Clayton. We had the biggest turnout ever this year and runners raised several thousand dollars for Save The River’s advocacy, education and research programming.

Congratulations to this year’s first and second place race winners: Nick Guarino, age 20 from Bergen, NY came in first place with a time of 15:47 and Joshua Guarino, age 20 also from Bergen, NY who came in second place with a time of 16:02 qualifying for the category of Top Male (20-29).

Awards were given to top males and females in each age category. The full list of results and individual times is available here. (Please note that the times listed on the results list are accurate – the large race clock was running fast at the race. The individual times listed here were taken from a separate handheld clock.)
